About Ecotour

The project is necessary for the formation of specialists to acquire the skills necessary to ensure sustainable supply of tourism services and for change the mentality of tourist operators regarding the social responsibility through environmental protection.

A new professional qualification will be defined and proposed for the labour market at European Level: Tourism Energy Manager.

Project Results

The objective of the project is the exchange of experience, information, concepts, various methods and strategies and their implementation and experimentation.

One of the aspects of the added value for the project is that all results will be translated into Romanian, English, German, Finnish, Dutch, Spanish and Italian so that they are accessible to the target groups and especially the general public.

The awareness-raising process is essential because the main problem found in managers, administrators and executive panels of Touristic European companies is the lack of knowledge in setting up strategic objectives for energy consuming companies, planning and maximizing resources usage, monitoring of energy policies, management of energy efficiency, sources of renewable energies.

The project, ECOTOUR - Management of Efficient Energy in Tourism Industry, is financed through Lifelong Learning Program 2013, Action: Leonardo Da Vinci – Transfer of Innovation.The consortium of the project is formed by university foundations, research institutes, regional authorities, tourism association, VET providers, and energy efficiency associations from Romania, Austria, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, and Finland.
